Greenmasters Outdoors recently completed a standout commercial landscape and hardscape project at the Civic Center of Sanford, delivering a refreshed, functional outdoor space designed to serve the community for years to come. As a well-used public gathering place, the Civic Center required upgrades that would not only improve appearance, but also enhance durability, accessibility, and long-term performance.
The scope of work centered around a full walkway transformation, beginning with the removal of existing concrete to make way for a more attractive and resilient paver system. Our team installed 4,636 square feet of Tremron Stonehurst pavers in the Sand Dune color, creating a clean, cohesive look that complements the surrounding environment. A proper foundation was critical to the longevity of the project, so we installed a minimum 4-inch paver base, followed by joint sand to prevent movement over time. Concrete edging was added throughout to lock the system in place and maintain crisp lines. To elevate the design, we incorporated 1,760 linear feet of a 4″x8″ coffee-colored border, providing a rich contrast that defines the walkways and adds visual interest.
Beyond the hardscape, the project included thoughtful landscape enhancements to tie everything together. Around the existing oak trees, we installed 48 Encore Azaleas in a mix of colors to bring seasonal vibrancy and texture to the space. These planting areas were finished with 60 bags of dark chocolate mulch, helping retain moisture while creating a polished, uniform appearance. Additionally, 200 square feet of St. Augustine sod was installed to restore and refresh surrounding lawn areas. As part of the process, park tables and benches were carefully removed prior to construction and reinstalled upon completion, ensuring the space remained functional for visitors.
The end result is a revitalized outdoor environment that balances aesthetics with performance. The new paver walkways provide a safer, more durable surface for foot traffic, while the upgraded landscaping adds warmth and visual appeal. This project reflects Greenmasters Outdoors’ commitment to delivering high-quality commercial installations that enhance both the usability and beauty of public spaces.
